Obedience Turns to Favor

Sister Xilo’s Testimony:

I have a financial testimony this time. My husband and I bought this house last year with the sale of our townhouse. We moved in around the middle of August. Recently, as happens every year, our mortgage company reviewed our escrow account to adjust for insurance and property taxes.

At the beginning of October, we got a letter saying our payment adjustment would be about $120. But when we went online to pay our bill, it said our escrow was short by $9,000, and our new monthly mortgage payment was going up by almost $800!

We were like, “Oh man…” because this month has already been tight for us. My husband is an aircraft mechanic, and he gets a small commission bonus each month—usually about $1,000. It’s consistent.

But this month, when he got his paycheck on Friday, his bonus was $1,750—just $50 short of the increase in our mortgage!

It honestly made me want to cry, because $800 is a big deal for us. I even asked him, “Did you do more work this month?” And he said, “No, everything was about the same.” The company’s output hadn’t changed either—it was the same amount of work.

So we both knew what it was—God’s favor.

Come on now! You already know what it is. God’s blessing you because you’ve been faithfully sowing and tithing into this ministry.

And I’m not talking about $10 a month—you’ve been consistent, obedient, and generous even when times were tight. That’s how God works. He doesn’t just randomly throw blessings around—He honors obedience to His Word.
