Dead To Sin Alive To God

Father God,

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, I come before You humbled, grateful, and desperate for deeper revelation of the Gospel. Lord, Your Word says in Epistle to the Romans 6:1–2 (NKJV), “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?” Father, I thank You that grace is not a license to remain bound, but a divine empowerment to walk free. Today I stand on Your Word and declare: I am dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.

Lord,

I confess that for too long I have focused only on my sins—the acts, the failures, the repeated mistakes. I have grieved over the spiderwebs but forgotten about the spider. Yet Your Word reveals that my greatest problem was not just the sins I committed, but the sin nature I inherited. I was born in Adam, shaped in iniquity, carrying a principle within me that produced disobedience. But I thank You that what was inherited by birth has been terminated by death—by the death of Jesus Christ.

Father,

I praise You for the precious blood of Jesus. Your Word declares in 1 John 1:7 (NKJV), “The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” Thank You that the blood cleared my record. Every accusation, every failure, every hidden thing—washed away. The blood was the divine “clear” button over my past. You satisfied the righteous demands of justice through the sacrifice of Your Son. I stand forgiven, justified, and accepted.

Lord,

I thank You that the blood also cleanses my conscience. Hebrews 9:14 (NKJV) says, “How much more shall the blood of Christ… cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” I silence every condemning voice in my mind. When guilt rises, I apply the blood. When shame whispers, I apply the blood. And when memories try to torment me, I apply the blood. I declare that my conscience is cleansed, purified, and at peace because of Jesus.

And Father,

I thank You that the blood conquers the accuser. According to Revelation 12:11 (NKJV), “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” I overcome Satan’s accusations today. The enemy cannot use my past against me because it has been covered, redeemed, and erased by the blood of the Lamb.

But Lord, I do not stop at the blood. I thank You for the cross.

Your Word says in Epistle to the Romans 6:6 (NKJV), “Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. ” Father, I declare that my old man was crucified with Christ. Not will be crucified—was crucified. This is a finished work. Two thousand years ago, when Jesus died, I was included in His death.

I thank You that His death was substitutionary—He died for me. And His death was inclusive—I died with Him.

Your Word says in Epistle to the Romans 6:4 (NKJV), “Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead… even so we also should walk in newness of life. ” Father, I declare that I was buried with Christ. My old identity, my bondage, my addiction, my sinful nature—buried with Him. And just as He was raised, I have been raised to walk in newness of life.

Lord,

renew my mind with this truth. You said in John 8:32 (NKJV), “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” I choose to know, I choose to believe, I choose to anchor my faith not in my feelings, but in historical, finished, redemptive reality. My freedom does not depend on how I feel today. It depends on what Jesus accomplished on the cross.

Father, I reckon myself dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

As Your Word declares in Epistle to the Romans 6:11 (NKJV), “Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God inChrist Jesus our Lord.” Today I make that conscious act of faith. I consider my old self executed with Christ, I see my sinful nature nailed to the cross, I refuse to identify with what You have already crucified.

Lord, I present myself to You. Romans 6:13 (NKJV) says, “And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead.”

So I present my eyes to You—let them look upon what is pure. I present my ears to You—let them hear what is holy. My hands to You—let them serve righteousness. My mind to You—let it meditate on truth. And my body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to You.

I thank You that I am no longer under the dominion of sin.

Romans 6:14 (NKJV) declares, “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.” I declare that sin is not my master. Nor am I its slave. I have been delivered from its authority through death with Christ.

Father, I renounce the lie that I must live in repeated sin until physical death rescues me.

I will not wait for my funeral to experience freedom. Today, I look back to Calvary. I look back to the cross. Today, I look back to the moment when Jesus said, “It is finished.” I receive deliverance from sin now.

Your Word says in Galatians 2:20 (NKJV), “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.” I declare this over myself: I have been crucified with Christ. The “I” that was enslaved to sin no longer lives. Christ lives in me. His life is my life, His power is my power, His Spirit is my strength.

Holy Spirit, I thank You that I am not left empty. But I am not just dead to sin; I am alive to God.

Romans 8:9 (NKJV) says, “But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you.” I thank You that the Spirit of God dwells in me. I am not a dwelling place of sin—I am a temple of the Holy Spirit.

Teach me to walk in the Spirit. As Galatians 5:16 (NKJV) says, “Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” I choose relationship over rules. Right now, I choose intimacy over legalism. I choose dependence over self-effort. Empower me to yield to Your promptings, to listen to Your voice, to obey Your leading.

Lord,

by the Spirit, I put to death the deeds of the body. Romans 8:13 (NKJV) declares, “For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.” I do this not from a place of striving, but from a place of already being crucified with Christ. I cut off triggers, remove access points, and shut doors that lead back to bondage. Not to earn freedom—but because I am free.

Father,

thank You for the two ordinances that remind me of this truth: communion and baptism. When I take communion, I remember the blood that cleansed my sins. When I remember my baptism, I remember that I died with Christ, entered the grave with Him, and rose with Him. I do not identify with my past, my failures, my temptations, or my struggles. My identity is in Jesus Christ.

Today, I declare:

Repeated sin does not define me; my union with Christ defines me. I am not a slave struggling toward freedom, but I am a son walking in freedom already secured.

Lord, where I have tried to defeat sin with discipline alone, forgive me.

Where I have trusted in fasting, routines, or human effort as the ultimate solution, correct me. I thank You that while spiritual disciplines are valuable, only death kills the flesh—and that death has already occurred in Christ.

Today, I receive abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness. I reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. And I declare that I will not experience mere victory over sin—I will experience deliverance from sin’s dominion.

Father,

anchor this revelation deep within me. Let it move from information to transformation. Let it reshape how I see myself. When temptation comes, remind me: “You died.” Or when shame rises, remind me: “You were crucified with Christ.” When condemnation whispers, remind me: “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.”

I praise You for the Gospel, for the cross, for the blood, for the indwelling Holy Spirit. I praise You that I am part of a new humanity in Christ—the last Adam ended the old race, and the second Man began the new.
